Not sure that it takes a calculation to know if it's a good day for climbing or not.

alright, the poll numbers have obviously been left-skewed by the Jerry vote. The rule is obvious as we are all bitchin about the heat right now (today 120 or so, last week 140). But when it is 65 out and 35% humidity then it all will be good. And I won't be posting at 12:22 pm on a sunday.

my rule

Post by jpexpress »

my 100 point rule is in farhenheit, i think we are losing the canadien vote
lets walk through an example using the following conversuion factor
tc/100=(tf-32)/180
let's assume you're on your way to the gorge, you turn on the radio(just before us customs search) and the temp is 20.0 C with 59% rel humidity in kentucky
a little rearrangement of the above formula gives tf=68
since the relative humidity is 59 this results in a 127 on my scale
go home

Wouldn't a chemist use stoicheiometry to calculate such a thing? That is, if Jim REALLY IS a chemist? Or if he REALLY IS Irish? Hmmmm :?

I have sent all my hardest routes in kentucky on days with over 130 points. Most 140+ days.
