Any audiophiles out there?

Post by lucamaniac »

I've been wanting to switch to analog for quite some time and I think I'll finally be able to do it in couple of months. After researching a bit, I have decided to skip the entry level turntables and cartridges, but I'm not yet sure what I'm going to get. Do any of you guys/gals on here have experiance with phono equipment? Just looking for any opinions ya'll might have.

do you just like lots of hissing and popping noises along with your tunes? Mrs Ynot still has a nice turntable. On the other side of the coin ,I have to admit ,it's way more reliable than a CD player.

I thought most audiophiles finally admitted that the "warmth" of LP's was distortion, not a true representation of the audio signal trapped by the microphones. I guess I am not an audiophile since I can't afford to drop 100G on a home theater and audio room.

I definitely don't qualify as an audiophile, though I do prefer the sound of old vinyl on my turntable if I'm going to listen to music at home...
