Yes, we are allowed to maintain existing anchors with non-motorized equipment.

Non-motorized anchors may be maintained with fixed equipment only. Duh - it's a wilderness area!

When LAC is completed additional routes and even whole areas may be allowed as long as the Limits of Acceptable Change are not exceeded and there is no conflict with cultural or biological resources. In other words climbing areas will be approved or disapproved by the FS instead of individual routes. The location of routes within an approved area will be up to climbers. As far as bolting, this would be allowed in an approved area except, of course, in the Clifty Wilderness where no new fixed anchors are allowed.
As long as it works like it's supposed to work (not a sure bet when dealing with the federal government), then that's great to hear!

I've got a hand drill if anyone needs to do the deed, more than welcome to use it, makes "good" sense to have someone banging on a drill for one to two hours per hole than the five minutes it would take to fire in some anchors with a rotary drill. Thanks National Farce Service

You're supposed to use a flint tipped arrow spun between your hands. Didn't you read the field guide? Good thing they don't enforce that "hemp rope and leather harness" rule.
