yeah, if I had any real intent to do social work, I would. Besides altruism is just another form of self promotion and mental masturbation

your right pigsteak, you could be spending that extra time at work doing a job you hate to support a family and wife you resent. Or you could be getting all geared up for the new football season were you will spend every weekend from now until Feb. 08 indoors eating junk food, drinking beer and living vicarously through your favorite football teams. Or you can hit the malls everyweekend or not miss a single episode of American Idol. Your right dude, you life is pathetic, spending all that time outdoors bolting routes for you and others to enjoy, living an active healthy life. That dog you have probably hates you for forcing him to go to the red with you every weekend.

Get over it dude, life is very short! Live well my friend.

Here's an idea if you want to contribute to the community: In Clay City, there is a Humane Shelter filled with lots of dogs. Join their foster program and take a dog out for the weekend, especially on busy weekends and let climbers know the pooch is available for adoption. You get to climb and you do a service to the community, not to mention, little Fido who just wants to be loved.

Meadows, that is quite simply the worst idea I've ever heard. You don't think we already have enough untrained and poorly mannered dogs/owners at the crags already?

some other stae needs an "Adopt-a-Meadows" day. they take you to another state for a few days,(or weeks) and then you have to find your way home. you can stop in Clay City and take some of that Chinese Helper with you.

You're right, Charlie. Anticlimber is one of them. And Rhunt, do you even climb anymore to care?

Meadows - I am resting and exploring other adventures, on a quest to become more balanced like Charley. There is this really cool thing they call mountain biking that I have been doing a lot of this summer, I even bought a new mt bike. Although here in Ohio it should be called trail riding over many man made bridges and crazy stuff, not a mountain to be found in Ohio. Who would have thought 12 miles on a mt bike on trail near Cbus would kick my ass so bad!
