Truthfully the C3s will probably make you feel most comfortable above them but even on prodeals still $$$$, but a "mutt" rack is the best way to go..the yellow TCU and yellow alien are money sizes, the old school bd mirco have a tendecy to pull on a larger fall, but they fit that sizes between 1-0 TCU and 0-00 TCU.

just fill in the gaps with a little of eveything.

Thanks for everyone's opinions here. My rack is a bit all over the place (some trango, mostly wc, some bd), so mixing it up a bit more is not going to send me into a fashion crisis. I had heard of the problems with Aliens, but thought they had been fixed and tested. I had not heard that the ground fall on sauder's crack involved a failure of an alien cam, but if that's the case it does make me a little nervous. I've placed some metolius (borrowed) and struggle a little with their nimble operation. I'm just used to single stems I suppose. Was there any discussion on the alien failure at Sauder's? I did a search and nothing came up.

i've placed the red and yellow c3's and taken marginal falls on both of them they are bomber try them. i also have a set of tcu's and they are just as good only, the heads are a little wider so that can make them not as versatile as the c3

I could not agree more. I have many different models of micro cam. However, it always seems that other brands offer something that mine do not have. I will probably die with dozens of different models and sizes hanging in my closet. Just get some and go with it. Also, I have never had any problems with Aliens and have logged some good whips on the smaller ones.

It's pretty amazing that such small cams will hold a fall, and then something bigger will rip out just because it moved around or something.
Or one will move and jam all cockeyed. I know I watched a woman hang repaetedly off my 0 when I wouldn't have wanted to fall on it but placed it there in a horizontal anyway.
