remember purgatory? the lode brings people into the region which bring awareness, which brings new 5.13+ cliffs, which brings more people, which brings more cash...etc. You really don't get this?

I don't..The biggest benefactors I know are those who DON'T climb hard..you know, the poor saps who have full time jobs and barely get up 5.10's...

The Lode is an awesome cliff, but I would think losing roadside, military, or left flank would have more impact on the pocket book.
Positive vibes brah...positive vibes.

I agree rhunt, the lode did put the Red on the map and remains the flagship crag for exposure...

dude I am just saying. The lode was there first. we wouldn't even be climbing in the southern region had it not been for the discovery of the lode. the lode brings people to the southern region who then venture out to the other areas. It's not even a part of the MPRP yets its a very important part of it...very.

Yeah, how many people were at the trail day who can climb 5.13?

I've never climbed 5.13 yet I've spent many an enjoyable day at the Lode, even if I was sometimes beating my head against the wall. It is a beautiful area with beautiful stone. And such a great concentration of climbs. Whether or not it is key to the PMRP purchase is debatable but it IS extremely important to the overall mission of the RRGCC and as Spragwa said we will continue to monitor the situation.
