Don't get your back up (so to speak ) about my use of the term "natural selection." I'm practically blind without glasses/contacts - thus, a defeat for natural selection. I make mistakes all the time and there's always a chance I'll hit something on the way down from one of them! (I'm thinking of one situation where I was stuck in an akward 'pod' on Bastille Crack with my last peice 15 feet below me and a big ledge 5 feet below that - mistake!)montan wrote:I guy is fine. In fact he was climbing again 4 days later. Just a bruise on the lower back is all that happened. It shook-up the people who witnessed it more than the guy.
It's great to see that people who weren't there and don't know anything about it can conclude that the guy is an idiot. I'm sure that people like, tomdarch, et al have never made a mistake. There were several mistakes made that day, and the guy is aware of them. We all makes mistakes, hopefully we learn from them.
I know the guy is fine because, I am the "guy". I have a pain in my back, getting better day by day, and an embarassig story to tell. I hope it is not your turn next!!
It's good to hear that you're fine, and to know that you've got video to see exactly what went wrong.
