Some of the Jib Jab stuff has missed the mark - but that was spot on!
If only breast implants on Nina Totenberg would get commercial media to devote 10 minutes to an in depth discussion of what the Supreme Court is up to and why. (I doubt they ever go 10 minutes between commercial breaks...)
Commercial media really deserves a huge amount of blame for the fucked up invasion of Iraq (along with a lot of similar stupidity from both parties). A lot of commercial journalists know perfectly well when politicians are lying and they're too scared to call their bluff, too cynical believing that Americans are too stupid to understand and also too scared that the advertisers will punish them if they speak up.
I can't cite a reference, but I remember hearing about an American news crew visiting a burned out Albanian town in Kosovo. The UN troops said, "OK, now you've seen the Albanian town burned out by the Serbs, let's go over the hill and you can see the Serb town burned by the Albanians." The American news crew said, "Oh, no. That's too complicated. The story we're telling is 'Serbs bad, Albanians are the victims'. " Not totally wrong, but it was a gross oversimplification.
Have people seen how CNN has tried to turn itself into an imitation of Fixed Noise? Just pathetic.

I see they are still lopping off mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Electricity isn't cheap.
Heh heh. You see, I'm colorblind. Literally. Don't tell me to use the red cam. It's easier for me to read the number than the color.anticlmber wrote:dana the Brit part was the best part. maybe it's just cat's meowing that amuses me. alan, this makes up for you being a racist.
