miguel's activity

Post by absolutsugarsmurf »

I'll be heading down for the weekend and was hoping for a report on the level of activity at Miguel's lately. The few times i've stayed there in memory the quiet hours were not enforced at all and i spent most of the night unable to sleep because of drunken bon-fire antics. However, it is the most convinient and fun place to crash in the Red, so I just wanted to know what my chances of getting some sleep were. I find it can really, really vary from season to season.

If my chances at a good night sleep are slim, anyone have a good reccomendation for a convenient place to bunk down? There will be five of us getting to Slade around 11 pm or so. It's kind of late so I don't want to step on any slumbering toes. Oh, we'll be at Funk Rock for the day, so something close to there would be good, but not with the drunk campers along the Red by the bridge.

Ear plugs. Cheap and effective. Sleep in blissful peace anywhere, anytime.

Gaar, I would, but this is a weekend trip. Zion is to far. Your photos look bad ass by the way. Hope you and Amy are well.

my suggestion is to drink hard and early, beat the drunks at their own game.

sleeping in my car on the far side of the parking lot always worked for me, it kept me far enough from the ruckus so that i had no problem sleeping. but you have lots of people and pulling in over there at night will wake up whoever is sleeping over there.

i stayed there for 16 nights recently - i used ear plugs 3 times. worked like a charm. now i sleep in my car in the parking lot and never have a plm with the drunks/frogs. honestly, the frogs were more of a problem for me than any person. the people will shut up eventually. damn frogs NEVER stop :-)

Last weekend was pretty tame. There wasn't even a bonfire. YMMV.

edited to add: oh yeah, i did hear the frogs though.
