I have several different game plans. In retrospect I think my stategy teeters on the length of the trip.
Short trip (weekend): I try as many classics as I can never trying anything twice unless I am pretty certain of success.( I must confess this has turned into a frenzy of redpoint attempts with little to no rest shooting myself in the foot for the day).
Longer trip(week): I try to find out where I am grade wise, then quickly try to find a classic mini-project. Meanwhile warming up and cooling down on every classic in sight.

Nothing but the classics regardless of grade.

On road trips I will give something that I really want to send 2 days of work. By this I mean maybe 2 tries one day tand then leave the drwas on it come back the next day rested, warm up and send. I try not to get too far in over my head b/c I am definitely not going to spend a week or two sitting under one climb on a road trip. Now at the Red that's a whole nother stoty. You might see my weak ass sitting under the same climb for months and never get it done :)

Now if after 3 tries I don't have it done I have to decide how classic is the clib and how bad do I want it ticked off.

Me persaonlly I hate leaving unfinished busiess all around the country so I try to finish what I start.

In the end it is quantity of quality that I try to do on a trip.
Lest we all forget... climbing is a mostly meaningless pursuit that we do for fun.

P2U, as if you got any sends at Maple. Admittedly, it kicked your A$$. Just kiddin'. I have gotten sucked into the Minimum wall and have been twice send you left and K & I are going tomorrow. Draws are hanging on Space Lord. Really nice route. I have seen more varied Beta on this route than about any route I've been on. I have seen people veer off to jugs and go straight and level through less than stellar holds. Both seem to work, and both ways are hard. You just gotta go with individual superpowers. I'm sticking to small crimps. Who needs those big potatoes anyway.
