The guy onsight free-soloed a mutlipitch 12c and has free soloed hundreds of routes, and then dies standing my the ocean. Thats crazy.

That is ironic--sort of like the crocodile hunter
Hauling a big ego up a route adds at least a full grade.

It sounds like he's dead. If that is beating the game, there aren't too many losing at that one.

Wether he bit it while actually climbing or standing on a ledge between solo pitches doesn't really matter. If he was roped up, he'd probably be alive.

Surprisingly enough, earning the title "famous soloist" tends to correlate with imminent demise.

He beat the soloing game. The dude has performed some amazing free solos and never fell. Onsite soloing Romantic Warrior is probably one of the bravest free solos ever done. Last I heard he was trying to solo, at Joshua Tree, enough routes to equal the height of Everest when added up. I think he was doing it all at once without a break. That would be like over 250 routes. Reardon beat the odds that most of us would never dare trying to beat. It's a shame that he may be gone.

How so? Not many "famous soloist"s have died while soloing.

Besides, doesn't being human tend to correlate with imminent demise?
