I just noticed something disturbing.
In the following photo:
There are no less than 3 crimps covered in magnesium carbonate (chalk).
This is a crack climb, and using face holds, especially with "chalk", is a severe infraction of the trad rules.
I trust that Michelle, knowing the rules, did not taint her ascent by using said crimps.
Please refrain from use of face holds on all gear protected routes.
If a route is mixed, face holds are only "in" while climbing within 12 feet of a bolted anchor, and not within 8 feet of traditional protection.
