The Rock Warrior's Way
heh-heh...walk through it? I don't even bother waiting for someone to OPEN it. It's there, I want to lead it (ok, sure, it's ONLY sport right now, but hey, I just started). I think my experience from taking a 30' boulder jump (or risk falling backwards) 8 years ago "broke" me of my fear of falling. The 3 broken metatarsals help to remind me I'm not invulnerable, though. As sick as it might sound, I'm actually looking forward to my first "good" lead fall.

Yeah P2U, that's where I got that quote, but my point was that way too many people have the mentality of "Hey, if I buy this book and read it, it will make me a better climber (or whatever)", but when they get back on the rock all that stuff just drains out of their heads and they are stuck there trying not to freak out while hanging on a jug somewhere above a bolt. I am stating the obvious, but it's a human characteristic that puzzles me from time to time.

...quitting drinking is kinda like washing your hands after you take a crap...why start now?
I completed my first lead in a raging thunderstorm, on a route I had frozen on a few weeks earlier. Arno was belaying me. Buy the book!
What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.

C#, Bflat 8) I still don't like that route, but I haven't been on it in a while. Might not be so bad now........but then again, this is me! See ya Sunday, Chris!

Awareness is the first step in solving any problem. If you don't know what options you have when being scared out of your mind then you can't act on any options. The warrior book and course develops awareness. Then, yes, you must apply yourself and practice like hell. I emphasize this to my students.
The key though is awareness. The book will give you that. arno

All I can say is BUY THE BOOK!!!! I am so glad that I did! I can't put the thing down. The amazing part is that you can apply the teachings to a whole lot more than just climbing. This has very real, everyday application! It really can be the basis of how to live your life. Check it out!
Just genuinely disengenuous.
