Yeah, there are other places with DWS in KY. Your probably not going to find anything as tall as Grayson. I have been climbing down at Laurel Lake for the past few years. There is not much over 30', but there is a ton of fun stuff to climb on. Most of the rock is bullet. There are two marinas that you can rent boats from, Grove Marina and Holly Bay. Sometime in the next week or so I will try and scan a map of the lake onto the site and mark where the good areas are. Call me if you want additional details.

Grayson Lake & the jumping ban!
so I was thinking last night about Anticlimbers remark about climbing Thirsting Skull and its a different situation. At Military they restricted climbing, each side gave a bit. If climbers got on closed routes all access could have been taken away, so really climbers have an incentive for not breaking the rules: hords of people beating the crap out of them. in this case, they've totally banned climbing so its not like climbing illegally would threaten the closure of the area. see, i knew i was right 8)
Sand inhibits the production of toughtosterone, so get it out and send.
It's just in the Huntington district (which doesn't include Laural Lake), so it's not a nationwide or probably even a permanent thing. General opinion is it will more than likely blow over in a few years when some old dude dies or retires.
That said, try and not be a fukkin tard who screws up the opportunity to get things open in the future.

not completely right. yes climbing THER is banned. not at other places. but when idiots that can't act mature and respect a rule at one place do whatever they want, the mfolks in charge will start to look at the whole group AND all the areas.
why try to compromise with people that are just going to flip you the finger? close it all and make them sweat.
