There were over 40 people in attendance at the meeting. It was good to see everyone and hear their input and thoughts. For those who weren't able to attend, one important item discussed was the need for more volunteer involvement. Earlier in the year the RRGCC developed an ambitious Strategic Plan for 2007. We need more volunteer help to get various things done from newsletters and database upkeep to PMRP trail maintenance and events. We are going to have an action packed series of events starting in August with the Johnny & Alex Crag day followed by the Mountain Gear "Intro to Climbing" event in September, Rocktoberfest / Petzl RocTrip in October, and the Access Fund, All Access Tour in November.

as for volunteers for rocktoberfest - i think we can look forward to a volunteer sign up area for people willing to assist with this event. still determining what help is needed, so i'm sure we'll hear more in the near future. be thinking of how you'd like to help:
- set up
- parking attendants
- shuttle bus drivers
- ticket taking
- registration
- tear down
- lots of other volunteer positions TBD

 one area where we can ALL help/volunteer RIGHT NOW is when traveling to the southern region. please, please, please CARPOOL to reduce wear and tear on the motherlode hill and congestion issues. besides - it's good for the environment too. double karma right there.

thanks again Dr. Bob for hosting the meeting and opening it up to climbing - and to all the new and continuing Board Members. you guys are doing an excellent job!
