The 08 which isn't out yet is supposed to get 60 highway. Much better than the old ones and it will be more powerful too.

Hybrids are environmental disasters, if you care about that kind of thing. The production of the batteries is not good for the environment and neither is their disposal.

From the start of production and through the life of the car, a Prius is much worse for the environment than a Hummer.

Honda is actually ditching their hybrid Accord in 09 and will replace it with a Diesel model.

Hybrid = FTL
Diesel = FTW
Hybrid Diesel = FTMFW

Andrew is right about the hybrid battery issue. It's a short term solution with a long term, bigger problem and something to consider very seriously.

I think the ideal vehicle would be an AWD diesel mini-van.

i've heard the Fits are hard to come by, pretty high demand. it seems like the civic has gotten larger over the years and now the Fit has slid into the size slot previously held by the civic. cars company's do that alot, they keep making a car bigger saying things like "biggest in its class" until it suddenly doesn't fit its original class and a new small car has to be introduced.

I had a Honda Civic hatchback in college. It was amazing how much stuff I could pack into that thing! I loved that car. The only downside was that it became invisible as soon as I turned the key in the ignition...

Too bad the mini Coopers aren't very gas efficient. At least people in big honkin' SUVs notice them and don't run them off the road.
