Due to health issues I have not been able to do things that I normally could. My wife wanted a new floor in our living room and alhough I had purchased the materials I could not do the install. Joshua found time out of his already busy schedule to get the job done. Thanks Joshua, you are a wonderful Son and a great Father. Pretty good climber to. Soon you will be a Dad for the third time - that should prove to be more of a challenge than any climb. Remember that true value is found in relationships. We have had some great times both in and out of climbing. If any of you folks reading this have a good Dad/Son &/or Daughter story it would be great to read them.

How touching. Thanks for sharing.
Josh is a wonderful person in general. He's always the first person to offer help and insight wherever he maybe needed not to mention encouragement and motivation. His generosity is sincere and intentions selfless. He is all of his user name: goodguy.
Happy Father's Day, Josh!

Does he have a strange bear claw like appendage protruding from his neck? He kep petting it.
Hey thanks! Alright, so if you haven't figured it out Quicksilver is my dad. The best story I have for my father and I is the one when he gave me a visit at work about 10 years ago and said, "Im thinking of building a climbing gym in Bloomington and I would rather you quite your job as a repo man and come build/run it." I was less than hesitant for the opportunity and because of this one chance that a goodguy gave me, my life has never been the same. I have met more incredible people through climbing than I can ever hope to keep track of. The most important being my wife, who I met in the gym.
I gotta say that this community is one of the strongest most supportive and most giving of its kind I have ever seen. I hope you all have a great fathers day.

Oh man, he is messing that up. However, he is missing his left leg so that way would probably be harder for him. SCIN, just before spraying some beta for a climber doing a route the WRONG way.

I guess my story will be this short one: Talking to my dad in my early teen years one afternoon, he stopped working in the yard to tell me this -
"Your sister, she's my first born, and I will always love her dearly. That will never change.
But you, you're also my friend."
That memory always makes me smile, to know that family relation aside, my dad digs me.

You realize that you control your own destiny.

Nice story Hedi. Living long enough to become friends with my children was always on of my goals. As for Joshuas time as a repo man - I figured he might end up on the wrong side of a gun barrel. Let's see, go to trailor , take t.v. back from beer gussling 240lb, man in wife beater tee shirt and oh yeah - he just caught his wife making out with his best friend and she left him for his buddy. Bright future!

Mike T and I only met once, out at the North Forty. I think it was the second time I met goodguy. After listen to Mike's war stories with health issues, and admiring the fact he was still climinbg and VERY proud of goodguy, it made me want to go home and call my pops...thanks in the little small ways guys.
Positive vibes brah...positive vibes.
