Midnight Surf is closed...

Post by 512OW »

Yes, its true. The Surf is closed. All bolts were removed yesterday. Please don't go there anymore... especially this weekend. I'll let you know when the bolts are reinstalled.

Thanks.

Yes, it's true. Someone was at the top of Cell Block Six chipping a jug. They dropped their hammer and it landed on someone just about to clip the fourth bolt on Iniquity. That climber fell with slack out and landed on the block ramp, busting their ankle. The entire block came off, landed on the red project rope hanging on the crack to the right which pulled down the entire route of Mellow Yellow, along with the rest of the wall. If only Pigsteak had spaced that bolt closer on Iniquity.

Wow, that's crazy! Shouldn't this thread be marked "announcement" or "sticky" or something?! I'll miss you, Mellow Yellow...

whatever. I am coming to the surf this weekend with the entire Cbus climbing crew - old school! We are all coming out of retirement for this one weekend event. Let me check my list of this to bring to the cliff: Loud barking dogs, loud radio and RAM and Tool Cd's, hacky sacks and frisbees. There will be lots of "dude" and "brah" slinging and more spray about the old-school days then you can imagine. Cool I can't wait. See you there 512OW and SCIN.

oh hey wait a minute there kneebar, that's a little bit too old school. LOL I have to get some of my old pic scaned in. I have a pic of kneebar in a comp at VA circa 1994, I think you were wearing knicker lycra tights.
