F___ the gas companies
Yas, you are definitely doing a lot more to conserve resources than the average household.
I have to do a lot more laundry than I like, but I invested in a front loading washer a few years ago and it uses WAY less water than a top loader. Additionally, it has cut my dry time to less than half of what it used to be as it spins the phuck out of my stuff (and I can do bigger loads). I also just bought a new dishwasher that is much more energy efficient than my last one. It holds twice as many dishes, too, so I run it less often. Once the gas mower is dead beyond repair, I'll replace it with an electric one (or a goat). I already replaced my old gas trimmer with an electric one. The central heat/air is programmed to basically turn off at night, but my threshold for A/C is 78 during the day when we are home. If I didn't have a health compromised kid, I'd leave the windows open 24/7 and deal with the heat.
Does it piss anyone else off when they see their neighbors mowing with gas mowers on ozone alert days in the evening after work? Do these people not watch the news, or do they just not care??

Mold is only an issue if you have a water problem somewhere, which could include condensation with poor or no air circulation. I know plenty of people who use only ceiling fans (or regular fans) and keep their houses comfy. It helps to close the windows when the air starts to heat up mid to late morning and open them again in the evening (assuming your house is well insulated and will keep the cooler air inside). I had to do this when my a/c died again recently and even without very many fans, the house was fine with temps outside in the mid-80s. The problem for us is the allergens and the kid. And the kitten climbing the screens, hehe.
