That's cool rhunt.

I heard the "rattle" and was looking to see what it was and saw the body of a snake. I looked closer and saw the rattle shaking at me. I never saw his head. Once I convinced Todd it was a rattle snake we ran out of the woods like little kids.

The freaky thing was Todd and I both had heard that same sound while walking earlier and it had been much closer than this one. Neither one of us recognized the sound as a rattle snake. If I hadn't seen it we probably would have never know it was there just by the sound. They just don't sound like they do in movies.

I saw what looked like a coral snake yesterday in the woods but I think it was the non-poisonous variety. very small, about 6-8" and banded with red/orange, white and black. Never seen anything like that in SW Ohio.

My high school art teacher used to catch rattlers by the bag and sell them to churches.

rhunt:

Please e-mail the pictures of the snakes! I can put them up above Dakota's food bowl so that she can have some scenery.
Jesus only knows that she tries too hard. She's only trying to keep the sky from falling.
