Not when you do the math. If you had bought a 5 year old civic or corolla, you would have saved over 10,000. Even if you save 100 a month on gas it will take you 100 months to recoup the extra money you spent on a Prius.

People will always want new, plus in 5-10 years there will be a supply of nice used hybrids.

I wish I could afford a Prius, ED I am glad you are doing your part to reduce emissions..... wow, some people drive them for less self-serving reasons than others, I guess!

Yeah, wait till someone buys a 5 year old Prius and then realizes they have to shell $4000 for batteries. There go your savings. A prius only helps you if you have to have a new car and you can afford to pay cash for it. I wish we lived in a climate where you could use a motorcycle year round. I would buy one in a heartbeat.
