So I was paying 3.39/gallon this weekend and started wondering. When the price of diesel fuel gets so high that all daily products that we are so accustomed to having and take for granted become very expensive and unfordable to the average American, what will be the first industries to collapse?
I am thinking bottled water will be the first and toilet paper will be the last.
How you compare may not be as important as to whom you are compared

Seems like everyone car pooled and bought smaller cars.
Oh yeah, there were extremely long lines at gas stations and eventually the staion would sell out and turn people away.
Also noteworthy is the fact that big oil companies made HUGE amounts of money.
I bought gas in Shelbyville today for 3.07. It is high in the Ville. and the price is going to jack way the hell up by tomorrow afternoon/evening..... count on it. Stupid shit.
I paid $2.89 in western NJ yesterday and that's full service. You can't pump your own gas in that state.
I drive 65 miles to work but the company I work for just announced we can work from home 2 days a week. That comes to about a savings of $25/week. SWEET
