Just a thought

Post by krampus »

So I was paying 3.39/gallon this weekend and started wondering. When the price of diesel fuel gets so high that all daily products that we are so accustomed to having and take for granted become very expensive and unfordable to the average American, what will be the first industries to collapse?

I am thinking bottled water will be the first and toilet paper will be the last.

Greetings from the most expensive gas market in the US! WOOOOO! Chicago is #1! Screw SF and Hawaii.

Oh wait, we're the ones being screwed....

But that's a good question - I'm wondering what happened the previous times that gas has gotten so expensive.

Seems like everyone car pooled and bought smaller cars.
Oh yeah, there were extremely long lines at gas stations and eventually the staion would sell out and turn people away.
Also noteworthy is the fact that big oil companies made HUGE amounts of money.

I paid $2.89 in western NJ yesterday and that's full service. You can't pump your own gas in that state.

I drive 65 miles to work but the company I work for just announced we can work from home 2 days a week. That comes to about a savings of $25/week. SWEET
