It has been an amazing time for sure. The ones with the bear, bison, wolf, and coyote were amazing to be around. Basically, some wolves killed the elk, the bear showed up and chased them off. He then spent two days just laying around eating. Except for the times the bison chased him off, grizzlies are big and bad, but not that big and bad. Then the wolf or coyote would sneak in to grab a quick bite before the bear would chase them off. The shot I missed, was the wolf bitting the bear on the ass then running off. The grizzly family was the highlight so far though. We watched them for whole afternoon, sometimes as close as 40 yards or less.
We have seen more wildlife the last few days, then I have during week long+ visits, so if you are into wildlife, yellowstone in May is a great place to be.
I will put some of the better ones on my smugmug site for sale in bigger sizes in the next couple weeks. People are welcome to print 4 X 6's or smaller from these files, but if you want something bigger, then check out the smugmug gallery, or PM me.
In Lander now, and the weather is not looking so good, so will have to come up with some alternate plans.
Dana, don't worry about the bears, worry about the mosquitoes! I "suffered for my art" a couple times standing around without bug guard.
