Indian Creek
Indian Creek
I am busting out to Utah on Thursday, and I am not really familiar with the way things work out there. Can I stay at Indian Creek for free? Any suggestions on the best area to stay at?
No big deal.
There are several places you can camp for free out there. Just stop in one of the outdoor stores in Moab, and they can hook you up. Oh, and I am pretty sure it is nice a toasty out there now, so be ready to hunt for shade! If the creek is to hot, check out Maple caynon for so super fun sport climbing in the shade.

You can camp for free in the Bridger Jacks area and a few other places. It should be nazi hot out there right now and I would consider going to Kolorado, Idaho, Wyoming or the Salt Lake area (Little Cottonwood) instead. However, Mill Creek in the La Sals (just outside of Moab) sits at a much higher elev. and should be tolerable. If you insist on going to IC, plan on starting (and finishing) early in the AM and hitting places like the Reservoir Wall, which stay in the shade for much of the day.
