Mr. Stamper complained about Chica Bonita too. Don't drive up there, walk from the parking lot.

 Thought you meant you did some hand work. Guess I'll have to thank that operator in person. I don't think he lurks around this bbs

Hey Bill, any chance all this good will and cooperation might lead to access to the Arena? :D

So I posted then deleted earlier but I suppose I will repost.

I would be afraid that reopening the arena and oil crack would restart any bad blood between the community and Charmaine oil. Everyone would try to go out there and no matter what is posted in this forum there will likely be jackholes who have to climb there so bad that they will block a road or something and just re-strike the match close to a volatile situation. I still see cars parked at the top of the mother load hill every week. They always get a nasty note but there always seems to be a new car. Maybe I am just being a cynic.

there's rumored to be a parking area for those cliffs now. Getting people to use it would be problematic, though.

I propose putting up a gate and allowing climbing there only for people who are willing to hike in. Make them park at the old parking area just off the road. That way Charmane won't be negatively impacted. And bonus! That one hill will kill most people, so the cliffs won't be crowded.

In my original post that was my proposed solution, to make it a long approach

I'd say great mind think alike, but I don't think either one of us qualifies.

What do you say, Bill? Do you think Charmane would be receptive to climbing at the Arena and Oil Crack if people could only get there on foot?
