Note: Americans do not plant car bombs or assinate people in the street as the pictures portray, I'm sure you get that!
I doubt anyone reading this board saw those photos and thought that US troops did the shooting/bombing in those streets.

The problem is that we went into Iraq knowing that in the battle for the hearts and minds of the Arab and/or Muslim world, photos like those would exist and would be manipulated by anti-American propagandists. You could argue that our involvement in Afghanistan would supply those images anyway, but in that case, I think the risk was worth it. But going into Iraq based on bullshit (not to mention Rumsfeld pushing the military to half-ass the troop levels and to go in under-prepared) means that when the propagandists show images like these around the world and imply the the US either pulled the trigger or 'allowed' these attacks, they seem somewhat credible to a lot of people.

While those guys are scraping up parts and worried about follow-on attacks, Iraqis are shouting at them "why did you let this happen?" I can't imagine how awful it is to be in that situation. And, basically, they are in that situation because of the fuckwit under the banner - the same moron who ignored solid intelligence, tried to claim that Iraq was connected to the 9/11 attacks, ignored experienced brass telling him that a lot more troops would be needed to secure the peace, bungled the post-invasion reconstruction was the dumbfuck who thought he could get away with proclaiming "mission accomplished" (and then claim that he didn't say that he said it...)

(At the same time that Super Genius was giving that speech, the administration was selecting people to send to Iraq to oversee the reconstruction of the country. Were they working hard to find the smartest, most experienced, most knowledgeable folks? Nope, they were picking inexperienced people who had demonstrated loyalty to the administration. Part of the selection interviews for a lot of the people selected for the Coalition Provisional Authority was asking about their opinion on Roe v. Wade! Boy, with the most highly qualified folks like that, how could the situation possibly have totally fallen apart?)

Bush talks to GOD on a daily basis. The American people elected Bush based on his morals and Christian ideology.

GOD told Bush to go into Iraq. Seems weird, but hey, GOD told Moises to Sacrifice his son . . . stopped him in the nick of time, but what the hey.

If you want to blame someone for the carnage, blame GOD, the fictitious fucker who lied to George Bush. That's right, we might not be in Iraq if we were all just a little more skeptical.

That was Abraham and his son Isaac, not Moses, whatever though...

It honestly never even occurred to me that the pictures above gave the appearance that our soldiers pulled the trigger, or detonated the car bomb. But the pictures do show what the Iraqi people are forced to confront on a daily basis. It is not a far leap to see their anger directed toward us.

You only get to bash the christians when you know their book better than they do.

I have read the bible. I was a Jehovah's Witness from 0-12 years old. My father was a missionary full time; all I heard while growing up was bible. I know the bible pretty well. I used to hold it in my hand and read from it and preach to people going from door to door on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Used to study bible on Tues (1 hr), Thursday (2hr), and Sunday (2hr) at meeting 7-365. I made a dumb mistake, Abraham not Moises. I could write paragraph after paragraph about who these two people supposedly were and how they differed.
So I made a dumb mistake,
cruxify me.
Abraham versus Moises is not the issue, but thanks for the correction.

I don't have anything against Xtians, most of are cute and they make great pets. They are pretty much the same as the average human who believes most of what mom and dad said.

Now back to asking hard questions versus taking everything on faith . . . and how we got to Iraq.

hey caribe....how can you be a JW before the age of accountability? Since most kids under the age of 10 are hardly potty trained, I find it difficult that they can make such a decision for or against faith. at age 3 did you identify yourself as a JW?

you know as well as the next guy...going to church, synagogue, or mosque makes you no more religious than sitting in your garage makes you a car.....

I don't usually get into these political discussions but this whole thing with OBL started before Bush with Clinton so it is neither a Democrat or Republican issue. If you want to know something about the why, I find this article interesting: http://emperors-clothes.com/articles/jared/madein.htm. Note that this is all pre-Sept. 2001.
