Many of you have expressed interest in helping rebuild RRO.
We are in the very preliminary stages of information gathering. This includes not only identifying resources, but also researching building codes, etc. Until the insurance issues are resolved, we can't make any firm plans, but we will be ready to go when Matt & Amy are ready to go.
Please enter your contact and other information here:

Thank you for your willingness to help!
Also - if you have connections and can perhaps solicit donations of materials for construction, appliances (think of the restaurant and the apartment!), furnishings, etc. Let us know what you're pursuing, and go ahead and start working your magic.

insurance
what you need is an insurance adjustor from the climbing community
that will fight for Matt and Amy. the only thing insurance companies insure is their profits.

Does anyone know the issues behind one business donating goods and services to another business? I can totally see that if RRO was a non-profit businesses would LOVE to donate kitchen appliances, etc. But RRO is a for-profit business. Anybody with more experience in this area feel free to explain this aspect of the rebuild.

Re: insurance
I run a bodyshop for a living. Fighting with insurance companies can be a challenge for sure. What you want is somone such as a contrator who understands the business completly, and can represent RRO needs.robert birchell wrote:what you need is an insurance adjustor from the climbing community

It is what it is. I find it funny when insurance companies try to change severity.
Any donations would not be tax deductible, so the motivation would have to be from the heart. If any of you have friends or relatives who own or manage businesses, talk to them. They may have floor models or units that were returned for no good reason, but can no longer be sold as new and that they would be willing to give to Matt & Amy. They might even want to donate brand new, top-of-the-line goods! Think about things like appliances, furniture, flooring, lumber, drywall, roofing, windows, lighting fixtures, plumbing supplies, counter tops, computers, audio equipment, etc. You might be surprised at what people are willing to give when they hear about tragedies such as this.ElectricDisciple wrote:Does anyone know the issues behind one business donating goods and services to another business? Please send email to the address below so we can keep track of any goods or services you have secured. And THANK YOU!!! to everyone who has offered their help. I'm blown away by the community response and commitment to help get Matt & Amy back on their feet. It's beautiful, and a testament to how much Matt & Amy mean to so many people.
I may be able to gather up some of my tech crew buddies to come down and help out. We build sets for our upper school plays at least twice a year. I'll see if I could round them up and bring them down to help out sometime!

thats a really good idea. That church always seems like they are into helping people in need out. Anyone know the right people to talk to about this?longlegsrule wrote:I wonder if we could use one of Southland's ministry's, or another church, to donate in Matt and Amy's name and then Southland could pass the items along to them?
