FA - Little Crow
by Sarah Bellam
The Great Spirit looks down on this hallowed ground
That White Men now call, "The Red."
He remembers a day, on this rock out to play
Came a young native who looked up and said,
"This line oughta go, only one way to know."
In loin cloth and having no gear,
He peeled off his mocs and studied these rocks
And climbed up the cliff so severe.
Manitou watching o'er, he thrilled to explore
A wondrous pocketed face.
His movement unflawed, none to applaud,
Alone he conquered this place.
And back to today, you claim your "FA?"
So you think that you were the first?
With gear - high tech, strung all round your neck
Your brag - it must be reversed
It takes some gall to claim this wall
And record it in Ray's little book.
Sent eons ago by brave Little Crow,
On the very same line that you took.

First Ascent
Fetch up a rock and throw it
At this poor excuse for a poet.

aragon..you want a response....here ya go...
screw the Blue Feather bastard....he didn't climb it...never will. white guilt is over done, and glamorizing a bunch of scalping, thieving horse traders who died off from their inability to defend their land is merely darwinism at work.
(PS-I know you wanted to say that John, but were too timid....hope you now feel better about living on this sacred mother earth.)
