Bloomington to the Red
I’m taking my son down to tour the campus this Saturday then proceeding to the Red. Can one of you Bloomington locals provide optimal directions? Mapquest is running me due east through Columbus then south on 65 and estimating 4 hours. Any suggestions for improving that?

RH, all these folks are wrong...especially Eric. On your way out of town via 46, take a right heading south on 446, take to SR50 go left, follow to 250, take notice or porn protesters on right and get onto I-65 at exit 41, then proceed to gorge as normal. If there is any traffic on 46 this way is just as fast and more scenic. If you are certain there will be no traffic on 46 go that way, but, by all means, avoid the 37 route through Paoli unless coming from the dreaded West Side of town.

Brent,
I don't have any directions, but have not spoken to you since your Red Rock trip, how did it go??? I will be there again with the Manimal from 18 Apr to 22 Apr,.
Hopefully Multi pitch is in Manimals plans. We should get together this season and do a little climbing if you like. Hope to hear from you!

Can't agree more, best town in the Midwest, not even any contenders.Meadows wrote:Four hours from climbing, but one hour from a damn good city (Indy) and 1.5 hours to two other good cities (if you like Louisville). However, Bloomington in itself is probably the best town around here.krampus wrote:bloomington is way out in gods country, its 4 hours from anywhere
