I saw this in the news, does anyone have more information about the fall or gear failure?

A Pennsylvania man survived a major fall from a cliff in the Red River Gorge Sunday.

Rescue crews carried the man through rough terrain after falling more than 60 feet from a cliff in the North Fork area.

Rescuer J.L. Bowen says the climber could not have prevented the fall, that his repelling equipment simply failed him, and this is not the typical rescues they're used to dealing with.

The hiker was taken away with a broken leg, arm, and hip, and was flown out from the Middlefork fire department. He is now recovering at UK Hospital.

The man's name has not yet been released.

Regardless, I'm glad he survived and is recovering.

That reminds of this guy at work who tried to hit on me. He Sametimed me to tell me that he heard that I climb and he's a climber too. When I asked if he climbs sport or trad, he said, "I rappel." :? I told him that I have a boyfriend. :D
