Rock Climbing Route Development – A Free Clinic
Saturday, April 28, 2007
9 AM to 4 PM
At Muir Valley

A FREE comprehensive hands-on workshop for rock climbing route developers at all levels of experience. Hardware, materials, and use of tools will be provided by the event sponsor – Muir Valley Nature Preserve, LLC.

Meet at the Maintenance Building at the Muir Valley Parking Lot. This workshop will be conducted at a dry Muir Valley rock shelter, so it will go on rain or shine. To be guaranteed a place please email your intention to attend to rweber@accenttech.com

Several experienced and respected developers will be on hand to demonstrate route development techniques, from the scouting out of a new line through the final bolt placement and cleaning of the rock. Installation methods for new (and much improved) hardware will be demonstrated, including the new Jim Titt-designed glue-in bolt now being beta tested in MV and Germany.

Participants will be provided, at no charge, with sample hardware and the recently-expanded version of the “Developing Rock Climbs on Corbin Sandstoneâ€

Rock Climbing Route Development Clinic Postponed!

We are sorry to announce that the Route Developers' Clinic, scheduled for this weekend has been postpone to Saturday, April 28.

The weather forecast has gone to hell in a handbasket. Temperatures in the low forties with 100% chance of rain and wind. Rain is the big problem as we cannot install glue-in bolts in wet weather. Please check your schedules and email me if you can still participate on the 28th.

If the 28th doesn't work for those of you who are signed up for the clinic, and if you will be down here Saturday anyway, please feel free to stop by our house (overlooking the Tantroft Hollow) to pick up the Route Development book and take a look at the new hardware.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Rick
