What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.

Al Gore is to Global Warming as James Baker is to religion. They both found something to sell and went on their crusades. Each found lost sheep that would follow anything that they said. Give your money to help spread the word. In the mean time, each became rich and live the life of a hypocrit. So, all you lost sheep, go ahead and give Gore all your money. Pay for him to fly to your next Green event. Jet fuel is not cheap. But it does help the Global Warming cause. Fly around the world and don't walk the talk. All you minions, keep supporting him. Al and Tipper are laughing all the way to the bank.

His justification:

What Mr. Gore has asked is that every family calculate their carbon footprint and try to reduce it as much as possible. Once they have done so, he then advocates that they purchase offsets, as the Gore’s do, to bring their footprint down to zero.

Like I said, that's some funny shit.

Under Gore's plan the rich can spew CO2 into the atmosphere at a profligate rate, and as long as they purchase "offsets" they're guilt free. Meanwhile the po folks can just turn down the heat. I'm sure this plan is just fine with John "Two Americas" Edwards.

so you don't think offsets work? would it be better than doing nothing at all, as most people? while it is problematic to calculate exactly how much carbon is being offset, I think it is still a good thing.

Yes, he states his homes (several) are all "carbon neutral" meanwhile he says that wood burning stoves/fire places should be illegalized. My only question is, what happens to us poor, when the power goes out, and the electric/gas doesnt work??? Do we all install battery powered generators to produce a few hours of electrical heat and light, and then freeze to death as good Americans, who are leaving no carbon footprint??? Come on, call it what it is, a sales pitch, this is selling his movie, his book, and his seminars at a record setting pace. I don't believe/dis-believe in global warming, I have heard both camps best scientist explain they're side's, both seem feasable, but whom am I to say, that is all....

It never ceases to amaze me how totally off base and full of shit most of the opinions in these political threads are.
