Thanks much. Yep, still the new lens, though these are really heavily cropped. It is amazing how close you need to be, even with a 400mm lens! Gives me (even) more respect for some of the wildlife photos I have seen. Going to get a 1.4x and a 2x teleconverter for it pretty soon, so that should help. But, to get a full frame shot of a hawk,at 400mm, seems like you would have to be around 10 yards or less...

I climbed at Pen Tryn in February. Brutal. What do the Brits call them- Woolly Salopettes? Those guys are hard core. Not to mention all of the bolts down there next to the sea were suspect.
Those grey overcast skies bring back memories.
What takes you to England?

lurkist-- school. spending the semester at Oxford Univeristy. not the best climbing destination in itself, but the Uni club is cool and they take trips almost every weekend.
Climbed the Gower, Snowdonia, and the Peak already. hitting the sport climbing at Portland tomarrow and the Lakes next weekend, and then back to peak, portland, and snowdonia before finnish school in april. tomarrow though, the sketchiest part of the day will be driving with a bunch of americans from oxford to the coast

where is pyn tryn? i'm guessing wales. portland, though, has big stainless steel staples every 1.5 meters or so, at least i'm told. some of the trad over here is freaking insane. i've yet to make it out of the adjetival grades to official E grades. it's creepy how quickly i redefined my standards of good weather, 'run-out,' and good gear.
