Does anyone know how to prevent those cuticle cuts that happen when you crimp really hard? It's the sides of my fingernails that dig into the skin real deep and make blook spurt all over the holds. It hurts. Ouch. Then they get all swollen and infected. I hate it. It happens a lot. Please help. I love you. Thanks.

Seriously though, Lotion will help, keep your skin moisturized, it may not keep your nail from digging into your skin, but it'll keep the blood down. Try Gold Bond foot lotion, just don't work it into your calices cause it'll make them go away, which hurts the next time you climb.

I always thought curved for fingers and straight for toes. My buddy (kirker on here) had major problems with his toes and ingrown toenails. Once he stopped trimming them with a curved clipper and let them grow out it was fine. Speaking of him, he also does the blood squirting from the cuticles thing. So SCIN, maybe they are staying inflamed from chewing on them or trimming too much?
