Does anyone have any sympathy/compassion for these people? I'm not finding any. Hope the rescuers are all safe.

Didn't 3 other people just die on Mt. Hood like a month or two ago?

Hence the excessive lack of sympathy. Best wishes to the rescue crews.

I have no sympathy for people who die on vaction while driving their cars either. Don't they know that they accept the risk of driving for leisure, and that their actions can put others at risk?
Positive vibes brah...positive vibes.

A recent edition of Climbing Magazine was whining about all the media play for the climbers that died on Hood a few months back, while nobody gave a rat's ass about superhero Charlie Fowler who disappeared somewhere during a climb in Asia. I left it at the Y. Maybe somebody else cares.

i dont understand why people risk cascade winters to climb mt hood. oregon winters are windy and very snowy. why become a statistic when climbing in the warmer seasons is prettier and safer?

I hear you, Pigsteak, but you really have to take into consideration the type of car they were driving. I can certainly understand having not a bit of sympathy for those riding in some big wasteful and immoral SUV, but if it was a small and tastefully fuel-efficient and earth-friendly compact, I think that an ocean of empathy might not suffice.
