It will soon be an out of control freigh train if we don't do something quick. Phytoplankton eats 90% of the Carbon out of the atmosphere compared to land based plants. If the oceans warm up too much all the phytoplankton will die. Then we will be dead soon after.

This article about polar bears and the effects of global warming is sad.

Our current CO2 level is off the chart compared to over 400,000 years worth of data. We are in uncharted waters and anything can happen. We could be on the cusp of another ice age if the cycle continues. The four ice ages shown sure seem consistent. Maybe global warming will prevent the next ice age. I don't think anyone knows for sure. Facinating to try to learn about though. It does look like we have had good times for the last 10 to 20 thousand years. Thats longer good times then in the past.
since I am not a scientist, what does it mean when the CO2 levels are above the temperature deviation? I realize that is two charts over layed, but I was just curious. It appears this is the first time in history that this phenom has occurred.
On a simiar issue, I see where Richard Branson has offered a $25 million prize for someone to lower certain emissions by a certain percentage. I was just wondering...anyone know how much his airline Virgin, spews out in CO2 emissions? Maybe he could start there, or maybe he has.

Positive vibes brah...positive vibes.
Also, to add to dmw's link from above, I personally know a guy who used to work for nasa on projects in california, one of the smartest physacists I have ever known. No one there was ever told not to report on global warming, but oddly enough, those that did lost all funding in a very short time. He once told us of some very strong evidence supporting global warming that he had, the report was deamed clasified and he now works in software development. I have no proof of this of course so take it with a grain of salt, but I never knew this guy to lie or even exagerate.
