Ckimbing in the Red in the beginning of April

Post by landro »

Is climbing in the Red in the beginning of April a good idea? What kind of weather can I expect? Does it get busy at Easter?

I pretty much consider RRG season to start with Spring break (mid March). I bet you can pick and choose warm weekends before that too?

Though it's not quite at the beginning of April, the RRGCC spring event @ Miguel's April 20 - 22 will be featuring a slide show from John Bachar. So if you could you might want to plan your trip to catch that.

Is there really ANY bad time to climb? I mean, you may have to skip a month or climb in 30 degree weather... But on the whole if you like 40 degree weather you're golden... Bunnies are still in hibernation...

Fair weather climbers should stay in the flatlands

The Red is ALWAYS busy, regardless of the weather or the weekend. Especially now that Torrent, Pocket Wall, The Arena, part of Military, InBetween Wall, and Oil Crack are closed.

the red is busy as you make it.

many many spring weekends weve gone so far into the bush that we don't see or hear a soul. thats fun.

its fun to be admist the hustle and bustle at roadside too....sometimes.
