Zombies are real

Post by SCIN »

I just saw a movie full of REAL child zombies. The movie is called Jesus Camp. A documentary about jesus freaks.

Damn, I'm so pissed after watching that movie. Those parents should be burned for child abuse. Kids believe in Santa Clause. Of COURSE they're going to believe in Jesus.

If anyone wants to get pissed, watch this documentary.

(Edited to remove the part that made it sound like I was really bashing religion when I wasn't)

I don't always condemn people for believing in something that may or may not exist. There is alot to be said for having faith, some people need those hopeful delusions to survive.
Hmmm, I guess some people out there just don't have the mental fortitude that you do SCIN.

Although I agree that it is deplorable how some parents force beliefs down their kids gullets in some wierd egomaniacal power trip.

But then again, is resorting to 'extreme' measures to retain a sense of spirituality or to bring you closer to you're deity so despictable? Apparently it is.
Saying something is real or delusional is highly subjective SCIN, just 'cuz you don't believe in Santa doesn't mean he's not real. I hope one's ego cannot be that big.

religious experience is all about the emotionalism. I mean, why have religions if it isn't about how you feel? even monkeys are religious when they start screaming when they see aother monkey. i think they think they look funny.

WOW, I'm glad I saw this post, thanks to Scins view on Christianity, I realised that the last 34 years of my life have been a complete waste. Nevermind all the good it's done me, the great friends I have made, and the base belief has kept out of the grave and from behind bars. I'm glad you are so secure in yourself that you dont need any help spiritually, must be a fantastic feeling, thanks for sharing, now I see the error of my ways, can I be your deciple now Scin??? Anyone need a bible or two????

It doesn't take mental gymnastics to believe in God...at least not to me.
I've had just about enough of this shit.

I was wondering if this movie would piss off people who have no claim to a faith as much as it does those of us who do. And apparently the answer is yes.

But please consider that proclaiming all faith to be "zombie" like because of the actions of the more vocal faithful, is akin to saying that all climbers are selfish assholes who ruin the environment because of the actions of those who build fires in rock shelters, leave tape and trash, and promote themselves on the internet.

If you've ever wanted to disconnect yourself from the less savory climbers around here and offered the excuse of "we're not all like that", then realize that us folks of faith would love to separate ourselves from people like those in this film.

Also, I've been following this "discussion" quite a bit lately. check it out:

On top of that, why are people so stupid that they will believe science when it provides the technology to allow MRI's and life saving medical procedures but won't believe equally well educated scientists who say the Earth isn't 6,000 years old and evolution is real. Then, once the life saving scientifically provided event saves their life, they thank god instead of their doctors and the scientists who provided the technology the doctor uses. Reminds me of the girl in middle school who tried to argue that science's inability to explain how a bumblebee could fly was proof of god. When I promptly told her science had discovered how bees could fly, she then said god had provided the answer to the scientists.
The theory of evolution is just as stupid as the theories of gravity and electromagnetism.

Because faith, ultimately is not based on rationality. I have a problem rationally believing there was a flood that covered the entire earth, but I choose to believe anyway.

Based on the type of faith a Christian has to have when all "non-believers"
try to bash they're head in with scientific facts, we believe that if god created man, would he not have also given him the intelligence to do the things he does to survive and flourish? This is called the faith of an apostle, a belief that cannot be shook, when your eye's show one thing but your heart says another, believe what you want! I think the very same people who are quick to condem ohters beliefs on here are the same people who cry foul when they're beliefs are questioned.
