How do you protect this?

You say "Fuck it", look down at your belayer with that wild fire in your eye, the look only a wild animal knows. Throwing your head back, you laugh maniaclly into the roaring wind as you watch your belayer swallow hard and start checking his device. Upwards you cast yourself into the vertical killing fields. There is no moment of indecission or doubt. You are monkey let out of the cage with a shot of Angel Dust. Up, up you go!! Passing by your mortality and all the things that you hold sacred. You charge like a crazed fiend; to the top, or all the way down.

Oh no, style is huge! Style like the time a buddy of mine got so stoned, before heading down to Eldorado Canyon to do the Naked Edge, that he forgot his EBs. Unfortunately he didn't realize what he'd done until he arrived at the base of the route. He could have just turned around and headed for home, but no, he went for maximum style points and climbed it stoned and barefoot! If you haven't done The Edge, the approach is two pitches, then the pitches on the route go at 5.11, 5.10, 5.8, 5.11 and 5.11.

Still not stylin. His FIRST intention was not, "I'm going to do this in a better style." It was, "shit, I just walked out here for nothing." That is life, that is CLIMBING. I am not worthy enough to question/doubt you, but that is my opinion. Style does have it's place, just not in this story.
