Trippin out west
Shelf is probably a bit chilly this time year. Cactus cliff and other crags in the sun might be nice, but the camping will be chilly (very). There is a solid bit of snow on the ground in the front range and the temps have been pretty cold, too. Utah might be your best bet (probably cold at night there, too).
