the only christian thing to do would be to kill more brown people.
I think some people on this post should get their "facts" from places other than the fox new network.
I unfortunatly must agree gunslinga, I accept that we are there and we must protect our own. It does not mean I am not enraged about it and know confidently that karma, god, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster will hold those responsible to account for what has gone on. I believe this even if it includes me for buying starbucks coffe every morning before work.
presidential address
I have to state for the record that I am currently not opposed to "some" left thinking, as long as the right, is doing wrong, I'm open to new ideas, why cant we meet in the middle and figure this out??? As before stated, I'm currently dis-enchanted with most of our governing bodies and the Big Cheese himselfkrampus wrote:the only christian thing to do would be to kill more brown people.

I believe all bad people get it in the end as well, hopefully some heinous
catastrophe will affect each one in a very personal and destructive manner.

You know, like nunchuck skills, bowhunting skills, computer hacking skills... Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills.

I generally stay away from political threads. They're like pissing up a rope.
But this is a reasonable statement:
I know who's responsible but to dwell on who did what is counterproductive. History will judge. Harshly I hope, but that will be then and we all have to deal with the now.
But this is a reasonable statement:
Politically I'm much closer to Alan Evils point of view, but this country's got it's self into a mess of it's own making and now we've gotta fix it. And we can only do that together.gunslnga wrote: why cant we meet in the middle and figure this out???

"Huh?"
Actually, One can piss up a rope if you pee slow enough. The absorption of the rope will actually pull the pee upward.bazoqop wrote:I generally stay away from political threads. They're like pissing up a rope.

Typical. You get some sincere political give and take going and then someone pisses on the rope.
See, one thing that really pisses me off are these mass e-mailings - sent amongst the faithful only (try to engage someone on one of these and they'll ignore you and never send one of those at you again) - that are filled with gross simplifications, hate, clear distortions, anger, and the party line. They're really kind of scary if you've read much about propaganda. Anyway, I've gathered that the people that send these things out to each other think that those opposed to them do the same things... but we don't. We send links to news reports or scientific reports or editorials or whatever. But mostly we just don't forward stupid crap to other people. If I get something like what's been pasted into this thread I think about each item. I know most of the arguments on both sides and I tend to come down on the side that has proof of some sort and it usually is NOT what these things say. They're saying something that's a distortion of the whole picture. Like when you squint at a woman in the distance and she looks kind of hot and then she gets up close to you and you're all like, "OH MY FUCKING GOD!!! She's a blind leper male with a giant tumor hanging out of his ass!!!" Man, does that suck. Anyway, that's what these e-mails usually consist of with a healthy dose of platitudes that make you want to kill like, "We all hate to die of multiple stab wounds." "Jesus wouldn't force sodomy on you." "We are your friends since we also don't want our children fed into a wood chipper." You know what I'm talking about. The fact is the neo-cons have been living a lie because the GLORIOUS LIBERALS forced a better world upon them that they could take over with their lies and distortions and then fuck up so badly our children will fucking hate us for it.
And I think we're wasting a massive amount of money in Iraq. Cancel all non-military contracts our government holds in that country and evacuate all associated personel (leaving free trade agreements in place for now), shortly after, begin withdrawing all military not involved in military training and security and then take everyone out but air support for the Kurds. Bring our reserves back home and start a draft.
Once again the country has spoken (like by not electing the little piece of shit last time) and this sawed off little fucker ignores not only us but a bi-partisan commission above the par of the 9-11 commission. WE are his boss but he doesn't see it that way.
