CAC elections results.

Post by the lurkist »

The Climber Advisory Election Results are in. I would like to thank everyone who agreed to be nominated for the council. I initially feared that it might be difficult to find eight people to replace the eight council members whose terms were up. It turns out to have been a bit more of a race than I first expected. We had thirteen people nominated for the eight open spots. This is a good sign for a healthy organization.
There was voiced some concern at the CDF that the people voting had no knowledge of whom they were voting for. A brief description was given of the nominees and basically I vouched for all the nominees climbing history and ability to give in quality input and the qualities they would be able to bring to the council. I must admit this wasn't perfect in allowing the nominees to have themselves represented, but as I stated at the CDF the most important qualifications are folks who have the best interest of the Red as a climbing resource at heart, show up for the meetings and can participate in a mature debate and can go with majority rule.
I think we have a great group of people and a good demographic sampling, in terms of locales the members hail from, there backgrounds in climbing, etc...

The climber Advisory Council will be-
Brian Burlier
Jason Burton
Sandy Davies
Scott Hammon
Steve Kaufman
Terry Kindred
Tim Powers
Mike Susko
Bill Strachen (returning)
Rob McFall (returning)

I will be in touch to notify all as to the 1st meeting. Probably in late June (28th Sat?)
Please send me your contact info.- both email and telephone # where you can be reached.
Thanks again to everyone who participated. The climbing community is the better for such a high level of interest. I hope those of you who were not elected will still be availabe to be called upon for your input and help.

Thanks to those willing to serve. May you receive the support you need from all climbers during your term as council members.
