I am a Patriot. Doesn't the RRGCC know that there was a conflict with important national holiday events?

Yo, the music at Derby Fest would have been a cool thing to check out regardless of the RRGCC fund raising aspect? Hang out your dirty laundry as to why you didn't attend and what you really think of the RRGCC efforts in this matter.

I know! My 1.5 bling bling was totally inadequate for the evenings festivities! But I did have a killer t-shirt, shame it was too cold to show it off~~

I almost wore the bigger bling....but didn't want to give the other guys bling envy.

Yeah....my girl had an Odub shirt on....super tight to show off her ample bosom...and cut down the middle of the neck to show some cleavage, under which was my logo.......too bad it was cold. I'll be sellin' those at Rocktoberfest too. (the shirts, not the bosoms)

i think you need another choice saying that no one knew when any events were going on because the rrgcc didn't get the word out properly.

Well if all those climbers would have put their reading glasses on, they could have read the info at the kiosk at Miguels! So that excuse is void!

I hate to say it...almost no one reads the kiosk unless their dog is peeing right by it and they don't have anything else to watch.

And whose fault is that? We can lead the horse to water..... This is the very frustrating part of it all. We don't want to put leaflets on everyones cars: wasteful! Plus Miguel would be pissed when the are laying all over the ground. SHould we hook up a PA system and announce avery 5 minutes??? If we had the cash (donations) we could bus people to the events.

This leads to a very good question and one that we could use some constructive feedback to address: HOW IN THE HELL DO WE GET THE WORD OUT AND INSPIRE PEOPLE TO PARTICIPATE?

For example, Horatio, you knew about the event, yet you chose not to attend. Why the hell not? Honestly, what would have made it easier for you to get your ass to the Fest? I'm actually surprised you dissed Kris and didn't show for his debut.

And for people who did not know, how could you have been informed? Clearly if you are reading this board you should have known. Was it too early in the evening? There were TONS of people at Miguel's - why didn't they go over? Is it apathy?

To everyone who came, your participation is greatly appreciated. To everyone who had family obligations, that is cool. Everyone else, what was your effin problem?

No one is expecting that. However, the idea of a banner or something of that nature is good. You can blame people for not reading the RRGCC kiosk all you want but that isn't going to change the fact that they don't read it. Thinking of ways to attract people's attention is probably more constructive use of time. It would be great if people were incited to participate but actually they just want to climb and let others deal with it until crags are closed. So, the question is how to get the info. in their face so that they cannot ignore it. There are tons of inexpensive ways to do that. When you attract them, you'll get the donations.
