Yep, and it appears that user name has dropped in the rankings by a nice margin. Wonder if that has anything to do with his opposition to the new system?

rro is weaksauce, ron you should know that. thats why i just hang in a harness with tools all day and call it climbing.

rays guide, online and print, have set standards for everyone else to follow and i cant thank him enough for giving me something to do for many years and for continuing to improve the guides.

the # of tries, points and rules are all very cool on a programing/data base level but the chest pump stuff is just goofier than hell. like on the # of tries, no one has put down it took them 20 tries on a route, you only see a # if it was done quickly and makes you look good. if your gonna go thru the trouble of logging it log all of em.

for the old weak ass's like myself that really enjoy using the tool only as a record keeper would it be a huge issue to give us an option to be hidden in the spray list ? i really enjoy the ability to see what has been done when im searching where to go climb and just in general enjoying your online creation. guess it may be back to the stone age of just making notes in the wonderful guidebook written by the dreamy ray ellington the guidebook author.

I think the # of tries only being on the low end are because most people lose track after about 5 attempts. That's my reason anyway. The best way to stay hidden is to use a different login name for your tick list.

yeah. last weekend--without the hilti, the farm boss, or a shovel--i had to climb. 8)

maybe ray would give points for number of square feet of lichen scrubbed, bolts drilled, anchors replaced, burritos served, et al.

regards.

the reason i haven't logged the number of tries on some of my stuff is that i honestly don't remember. for my hardest send, i know it took me a lot but not 11+. so i feel it'd be less honest to put something made up..

you can always maintain a personal spray list. but, honestly, i appreciate it when people share. i like to see what certain people have done because i like their tastes in climbs. and i always like to laugh at anyone that looks up my spray list and then makes comments on it.. as though i care that they care.

it's all choice my friends. i don't understand how this is such a big deal.. what's the difference between grades and points? a base number system and that's about it. it's our choice to get upset, offended, worked up about any of the rest of it. that such and such has their spray list out there and makes up number of tries.. who gives two sh*ts?! i laugh and shake my head.. so what. and if they make fun of me for my spray list.. so what!? i am myself..

you were doing OK until you posted walt whitman....now I am with RRO....

i have always thought, if ya don't like the system, then don't participate. and let the others have their fun. unless you are piggie..then you get to rain on everyone's parade.

in fact, since republicans love God and country more than the others, I asked God to specifically rain on RRO right before Christmas..just my little gift.
Positive vibes brah...positive vibes.

I think it would be awesome if some people bailed from the board because my point system pissed them off. Believe me, I'm still the old Ray underneath all the smiles and high-fives. The 12 step therapy only lasts for so long.
