PM Guidance, Please

Could I please get some guidance on sending PMs on RRC?

I have observed that when I send a PM, rather than being transmitted to the addressee, it resides for quite some time in my OUT box. In the current case, one I sent more than 36 hours ago has not yet left the OUT box.

I seldom use PMs, preferring instead to email directly those people whose email addresses I know, but I have observed this delay each time I have tried to send a PM.

Neither my SENT box, nor my IN box are close to capacity.

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

All PM's sit in the outbox until read, then they move to sent. So, if it is still in the outbox, it has not yet been read. If it is gone from the outbox, but not in sent, it means it was deleted without being read.
