Rocktown camping

Post by Ballss »

I tried a search and couldn't find anything real recent on this board or the secc site.

What are the rules in effect for the mountain? Can you still camp on the pulloffs before the trailhead area? Can you park at the trailhead overnight?

What are the rules and how are they enforced?

Thanks all.

You can no longer camp at the trail head. Camping is now at the horse camp (about a quarter mile after the rocktown dead-end pull off on the right).

Also keep in mind the seasonal closures for hunting in the fall......

Remaining Closure Dates:

November 8 - 11
December 6-9

My bad, called to doublecheck the dates and edited my post. Freaked for a second, T-Wall is closed on Thanksgiving but not Rocktown.....

Scene is pretty chill. Quite a bit of room, with a few fire rings. All the red climbers took over there New Years last year and I counted over 50 people around the fire ring. No water or bathrooms of any kind so even though it is car camping, take everything you need up the mountain with you.

Here's a pic from a few weeks ago, this is the campground......

Yep, you're probably right. That was just the count around the firering when the clock turned. Some other fires and people in other tents/cars weren't standing there at the turning.

We totally took that place over though. Wonder what's happening this NYE?
