That'd be just like my luck... bringing a gun to a nuke fight.

Global Warming
Not true. A ton of data has been gleaned from tree growth rings, arctic ice cores, deep sea cores, fossils, etc. The funny part is global warming is going to shut down the gulf stream in the Atlantic and really screw up the climates of North America and western Europe.Torrent Falls wrote: We have only been measuring the earth's temp and climates for just over 100 years. Who can say one way another? .
The theory of evolution is just as stupid as the theories of gravity and electromagnetism.

You mean "screw up the climate for humans", right? Does the world have a baseline climate? Aren't you a Darwinist? You talk like a creationist. Adapt or die.Saxman wrote:really screw up the climates of North America and western Europe.

Retreating glaciers are not a proof of global warming. Obviously snowfall is a major factor in whether glaciers advance or retreat. Here is some food for thought: http://www.intellicast.com/DrDewpoint/Library/1305/

It's just amazing that people still argue that the globe may not be warming up or that it may not be that bad. We have climate records going back almost a half a million years and we have NEVER seen this kind of sudden global increase in temperatures. What has happened in the last 100 years has never occurred over several thousand years in the past. The CO2 levels are higher than they've ever been (except maybe back before we had oxygen producing critters), and we are adding all sorts of aerosol (sp?) chemicals to the atmosphere that never existed until we came along.
Do you people still deny that we caused the depletion of the ozone layer or that by banning the chemicals at the root that we've reversed the problem? The key here is to quit denying we have a problem and to work on fixing it. Try driving a little slower and buying a smaller car next time. Turn off lights you're not using. Set your thermostat a little lower in the winter and higher in the summer and turn it off and open the windows when you can. President Nixon even understood conservation but the Republican line now is "conservation doesn't work." It doesn't hurt anything except the level of consumption. The markets should adjust quickly to that but they don't want to.
