Grand Opening of Cave Run Bike & Kayak Shop

Just wanted to let everyone know about the grand opening this Saturday. The owners are a long-time friend of mine, John Haight, and his partner, Dave Barcus. To find the shop, take the Farmers/Sharkey exit of I-64 just west of Morehead and follow the Cave Run Lake signs. The shop is located on route 801 about a mile past the 4-Way red light on the right side of the road. It's just a mile or two from Stoney Cove where the Caney Loop and other nice mountain bike trails begin. They will be carrying Giant bikes and Dagger/Perception kayaks, along with lots of other gear and repairs/service.

There will be a group road bike ride starting at 10:00 a.m. Saturday of about 40 miles over rolling terrain with a few climbs. I rode it last night and it's a real nice route. Afterwards, a few of us will be doing some rock climbing in the area, so bring your bike and your climbing gear.

John is also a rock climber and eventually will be carrying some climbing gear in his shop, just a few miles from the bouldering at Clack Mtn. and some other areas. Buy something and he may give you some beta about some of the climbing in the area! Hope to see you Saturday!

Don you guys are killing me. Can't you wait like 3 weeks to do anything exciting. I'm bored to death up here.
