Trails in KY, use 'em or lose 'em.
Even the most well established trails will return to nature ever-so-quickly if not continually maintained. It takes way more than a few people hiking in and out once a week to keep a new trail open. Previous experience, if you want to try and establish a 2' wide trail, you may need to start at 6'.

no sex in the valley ? seems to be pushing it to me. climbing IS all about the ladies. nothing is more romantic than deer flies biting your ass, snakes crawling all over you, poison ivy in the hard to reach netherlands and the sound of a drill.
did you really hear someone doing the dirty while climbing ? i can say that is a new one. i thought all we had to worry about stepping in was dog poo at the crag. do they make a wag bag for that ?

Damn, I think I felt it move. I was OK until you mentioned the drill.RRO wrote: nothing is more romantic than deer flies biting your ass, snakes crawling all over you, poison ivy in the hard to reach netherlands and the sound of a drill.

If they were not having sex, that was the most vocal climber, male or female, that Rob and I have ever heard. Grunting and screaming is one thing, but moaning? Maybe it's effective. I will try that on my next hard (for me) send.

Three months have passed since your kind offer, and your weedeater is still awaiting you in the MV barn.Saxman wrote:I'll even volunteer to cut the shit down if someone will loan me their weedeater. Shouldn't take more than a couple of hours.

If you want to use a machine with a real attitude, there is also a brand new DR brushcutter that will cut a 30-inch swath thru pretty much anything on the trails. I just used it to cut a 60-inch wide path most of the way back to the Stadium from the bridge in less than 30 minutes.
And, for those of you who were snaggled by MV weeds this summer, we apologize and wish to remind you of our double-your-money-back satisfaction guarantee on your admission fee.
